University of York Delegates visited EE College

On the morning of 20th October 2017, the Head of Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of York, Professor Andy M Tyrrell, and the Deputy Head of Department of Graduate School, Professor Stephen L. Smith visited EE College at Zhejiang University. Dr Yang Qiang and Shao Shuai met with the delegates on behalf of the EE College.

Professor Andy M Tyrrell from University of York made a presentation during his visit to EE College on Oct 20,2017.

Professor Andy M Tyrrell first made a presentation about the University of York. He introduced the university, department, programs, research and employment separately. As for international education, he proposed that the University of York welcomed overseas students and he introduced as well the current curriculum system and requirements of taught master and MSc majors, such as Communications Engineering, Embedded Wireless Systems, Digital Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Intelligent Robotics and so on. He also emphasized that all overseas students will be offered English language tuition and there is a specific planned set of courses for overseas students, in which scientific writing is included. Dr Yang Qiang then briefly introduced EE College, including its history, the staff, disciplines and programs, undergraduate and graduate education, employment rate, and the overseas exchange of students.

The two sides discussed further on research collaboration in areas of mutual interest, and on how to promote student training programs. They finally reached an agreement to seek more opportunities for forming a strategic partnership in future.
