Power System and Automation

Candidates of the program will receive M.S. in Power System and Automation after 2.5 years academic study. The program requires a minimum of 28 credits (26 course credits, and an extra 2 credits for reading report) for graduation. Course credits include 5 credits for general degree courses, 12 credits for compulsory degree courses, 9 credits for optional courses (of which 5 credits for optional courses for the degree, and at least 1 credit for general quality course ).

Educational Objectives:
1 To produce students with fair research ethics and professionalism, who are of quality in honesty and trustworthiness.
2 To produce students with a good command of solid basic theory and systematic expertise in adaption to technological progress and social development, with strong capacity in self-learning and extensive knowledge, with academic foundation and research skills for further study, and with fair fluency in a foreign language.
3 To produce students with spirit of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial qualities.

Further Requirements:

Reading Report

Candidates are required to finish at least four reading reports or seminars, including at least 1 reading report publicly made at discipline or college forums. 2 credits will be granted.

Thesis Proposal

Candidates are to fill in the thesis proposal in the required format, demonstrating their statements in aspect of significance of the chosen topic, main research contents and proposed program. Not until after passing the panel examination, can they start their thesis. Usually the proposal should be finished at the end of the first year of their graduate study.

Paper Publishing

Candidates are required to publish at least 1 academic paper in journals of Class B or above as is suggest in Journal Directories of Zhejiang University Degree and Postgraduate Education.
