On the evening of September 19, 2018, the opening ceremony of the 2018 freshmen of the College of Electrical Engineering and the lecture of Prof. JU Ping were held in the Yongqian Theater of Yuquan Campus. More than 600 undergraduate students and graduate students gathered together to meet a new starting point.
The opening ceremony began with a delicate sand painting video describing the history of the College. Later, Dean SHENG Kuang gave a speech. He expressed his warm welcome to the students who became a new generation of electricians, as well as deep expectations.
Following the grand and lively electrical freshman opening ceremony, the appointment ceremony of Qiushi Chair Professor of ZJU for JU Ping began.
Prof. JU gave a report entitled “Being a Man, Doing Things, Pursuing Study” for all the freshmen. Based on his own life experience, JU presented valuable suggestions.
Finally, WANG hoped that all the freshmen can follow the expectations in Professor JU’s report, cherish the honor of being an electrician and contribute to the construction of the first-class discipline of the college!
