On the afternoon of Jan.9th 2010, The Forum of College Cultural Inheritance and Development of Student Elites was successfully held at Multi-function Hall of ShaoYifu Gymnasium on Yuquan Campus, Zhejiang University. Student elites, along with outstanding alumni, gathered together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Electrical Engineering Festival. Among those who attended the forum were also leaders from both the college and university.
Based on almost 90 years of historical accumulation, the college has organized series of large-sized campus culture activities, Electrical Engineering Festival being the representative, to enhance the university motto of “truth-seeking and innovation”, and has actively created a unique culture of disciplines. Such activities has long developed into an important part of college culture.
The forum consisted of two sections--keynote speeches and interviews. Centered on " Years of Burning Passion " in the first section, representatives from outstanding alumni shared their experiences with students present. In their view, an innovation and breakthrough of the Festival needs deep involvement and profound research from student elites to seize the opportunity to integrate resources in order to present more exciting activities both in form and content.In the second section- “Beach-goers of New Century”, interviews were conducted by the host with those alumni who graduated after 2000, focusing on capacity-building and career planning of student elites in the new century.
