National Precision Micro-motor Engineering Technology Research Center (NPMETRC), led by Guizhou Linquan Motor Factory of China Jiangnan Space Group Co., was officially established on December 26, 2009 in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. Among those attended were Wang Ruifei (secretary of the party committee), and Professor Shen Jianxin from CEE of Zhejiang University. They had a serious discussion with other partners about the Center’s construction plan for the next 3 years.
NPMETRC is a state-level professional engineering center attached to Ministry of Science and Technology. With Guizhou Linquan Motor Factory as its executive unit, it is jointly constructed by Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Guizhou University and Guizhou Science and Technology Venture Investment Co., Ltd. CEE undertakes the concrete work in this project on behalf of Zhejiang University.
Approved by Ministry of Science and Technology in October 2009, the Center was one of the 30 new national engineering centers in the year of 2009. It mainly focuses on the R & D and industrialization of precision micro-motor and peripheral high-end products. Relying on research strengths of the above four universities, as well as the pilot and production capacity of Linquan Motor Factory, the Center will strive for key projects at the national level to meet the needs for major national construction and development. It will also lead and drive the industry by committing to the transformation of achievements, standard-setting and personnel training, etc. Branches of the Center will be set up respectively at the four universities in 2010. Such establishment is intended to help building relatively stable R & D teams, and thus ensure a long-term and effective Industry-University-Research partnership.
