The Sixth International Conference on Advanced Computational Intelligence (ICACI2013) was successfully held in Hangzhou from Oct 19 on to Oct 21, attracting nearly 100 domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the area. The conference was organized by Zhejiang University, and co-hosted by Chinese University of Hong kong, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and IEEE Nanjing Section.
Prof Gary G.Yen from the University of Oklahoma, USA was making keynote speech during the conference.
ICACI, been held annually ever since 2008, is not only an important conference on research frontiers and latest developments of Computational Intelligence, but also an important platform where scholars from related areas share interdisciplinary research achievements.
There were two experts co-chairing the conference, Prof Wang Jun, IEEE Fellow and expert for China’s "Thousand Talents Program" from Chinese University of Hong kong, as well as Prof Shi Yuhui, IEEE Fellow from XJTLU. At the beginning of the conference, Prof Gary G.Yen from the University of Oklahoma, USA and Prof Wlodzislaw Duch from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland, were invited to make keynote speeches, “State-of-the-art evolutionary algorithms for many objective optimization” and “Meta-Learning: towards universal learning paradigms” respectively. Their presentations were followed by session reports and poster reports later in the conference. Scholars from China, USA, Germany, Italy and Malaysia made presentations on the basis of their research achievements, which had sparkled heated discussion between the attendees and speakers.
The International Conference provided a platform of mutual communication among experts and scholars from both at home and abroad. It meanwhile helped the organizers to demonstrate the relevant research progress to attendees worldwide. The successful organization of the conference was, therefore, of great significance to promote academic exchanges between researchers from Zhejiang University and its international counterparts, and at the same time enhance international influence and technological innovation capability of Control Science of the University.
