The 2013 National Doctoral Students' Forum on Electrical Engineering, hosted by Zhejiang University, concluded smoothly on Saturday evening, Nov 11 at Shaoyifu Science Building on Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University. The 2-day forum attracted doctoral students from key universities across China.
Prof Xue Yusheng, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech after the opening ceremony.
On Nov 8, after the opening ceremony, there followed a number of inspiring keynote speeches by Prof Xue Yusheng (the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering), Prof Wang Xiuhe (vice dean of School of Electrical Engineering from Shandong University), Prof He Yigang (dean of College of Electrical Engineering and Automation from Hefei University of Technology), Prof Yang Shiyou from CEE of Zhejiang University, and Doc Li Wuhua, the accosiate professor from CEE of Zhejiang University.
20 session reports were then simultaneously conducted the next day by doctoral students, centering on seven themes in areas of Motor and Control, Power Electronics, Renewable Energies, Power System, High Voltage and Insulation, Advanced Techonology of Electrical Engineering, and Electrification of Transportation, High Efficiency and Energy Saving. They shared in reports their research achievements and experiences after an introduction of research background, current status and future trends in the related area. Their reports were followed by a heated interaction between the session chairs and attendees on research areas to their interest.
The Forum, co-organized by Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and Department of Postgraduate Education of MOE (Ministry of Education), provided a favorable high-level platform of academic exchange for doctoral students in related areas of Electrical Engineering. It proved to be a good communication for doctoral students from universities nationwide, helping to broarden their vision and improve their innovative awareness in research.
