Good news that Prof Shen Jianxin was elected IET Fellow in Feb 2014 for his contribution in areas of electric machines, the third professor from EE College ever elected as IET Fellow. The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is the largest multidisciplinary professional engineering institution in the world. The IET was formed in 2006 from two separate institutions: the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), dating back to 1871 and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) dating back to 1884. The IET has currently more than 150,000 members worldwide in 127 countries. Its concerns cover over 40 areas in 5 sectors in built environment, design & production, energy, information & communication, and transport. The IET has several categories of membership: Honorary Fellow (HonFIET), Fellow (FIET), Member (MIET or TMIET), Associate and Student.
Prof Shen has long engaged in research and application of Electric Machine Topologies, and Drives and Control. He has published on journals and conferences over 100 technical papers. He enjoys fairly good international reputation, acting as Editorial Board Member of 7 international journals, General Chair, Technical Program Committee Chair, Session Chair / Special Session Organizer, and keynote speaker of a number of international conferences, and Reviewer of 22 international journals.
