At the invitation of the EE College, the delegation of the University of Sheffield visited ZJU on April 10, 2018, furthering discussions on the cooperation intentions and plans with the EE College.
ZJU vice president YAN Jianhua met with Mike Hounslow, vice president of the University of Sheffield, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering of UK. YAN Jianhua warmly welcomed Mike Hounslow's visit and stated that the two universities have broad prospects for cooperation. The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation in the field of electrical engineering, and gradually extended to chemical, control and other fields.
Afterwards, Mike Hounslow visited EE College. The party secretary WANG Ruifei, vice dean SHEN Jianxin, and related faculty from the EE College attended the meeting.
“We have long-term close cooperation in the field of electrical engineering. As Zhejiang University is speeding up the development of a world-class university, we look forward to more extensive cooperation between the two sides,” said WANG, while extending a warm welcome to the Sheffield delegation.
At the meeting, SHEN briefed the delegation on the history, personnel training, scientific research, social services, and international education of EE College. He also introduced the progress of the international exchange of EE College. “We have broad prospects for future cooperation and we may continue to consolidate existing achievements and expand further cooperation areas,” he added.
The two sides exchanged in-depth views on all-round cooperation topics, including faculty/student exchange, joint research programs, summer school, and joint labs, and finally agreed to push ahead with bilateral cooperation.
Afterwards, the delegation visited the Test and Measurement Platform for Electrical Equipments of the EE College and learned more about the research projects being carried out by the EE College. In addition, the delegation also visited the College of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
