Zhejiang University IEEE Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter (ZJU IEEE IAS SBC) awarded the "Outstanding Chapter Award” in 2018.
The IEEE IAS holds the CMD Outstanding Awards competition every year. In 2018, 235 regional chapters, regular chapters, joint chapters, student chapters, and 57 outstanding members competed in various awards. Finally, our ZJU IEEE IAS SBC won the only “Outstanding Chapter Award”.
ZJU IEEE IAS SBC, founded in June 2017, is a branch chapter of the IEEE IAS and a student club of Zhejiang University. The instructor is Prof. Shen Jianxin, the vice dean of EE College. The main purpose of the ZJU IEEE IAS SBC is to help our students better participate in the academic activities of the IEEE IAS, obtain relevant information and knowledge, and publish high-quality academic papers in IEEE IAS journals and conferences.
The ZJU IEEE IAS SBC has been highly valued by the leaders of the university, college and IEEE IAS since its establishment. Prof. He Xiangning and Prof. Sheng Kuang from EE College, the chairman of IEEE IAS Dr. Tomy Sebastian, and the chairman of CMD of IEEE IAS Dr. Peter Magyar, had attended ZJU IEEE IAS SBC academic activities. The ZJU IEEE IAS SBC organized a variety of activities. For example, on June 20, 2017, Dr. Manoj Shah from GE was invited to give a speech at Zhejiang University. From July 25th to July 28th, 2017, the students were organized to visit Xinjiang TBEA. The activities were also reported on the IEEE IAS website.
The ZJU IEEE IAS SBC is currently preparing for the first IEEE Student Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (IEEE SCEMS'2018). The international academic conference is the first IEEE IAS student conference in China and will be held on December 14-16, 2018. The conference papers will be included in the IEEEXplore database, and the conference website is http://www.scems2018.com/.
