Our congratulation goes out to Prof SHEN Jianxin from the EE College, who was recently elected as IEEE IAS Member-at-Large for the2019-2020 term, announced on September 18, 2018 by IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS).
The IAS was seeking one candidate for the position of Member-at-Large on the 2019 IAS Executive Board early this year. Prof SHEN received a majority of 72 votes from among 95 IAS eligible Council Members and won the position of Member-at-Large on the 2019-2020 IEEE IAS Board due to his contributions to the IEEE IAS. Prof SHEN, an expert in the area of electrical machines and systems, has organized a number of international conferences sponsored by IEEE, won a Prize Paper award from IEEE IAS, and is currently a member of the IEEE Nicola Tesla Committee. He will also become a member of the IAS Board of Directors beginning in January 2019.
