Professor Enrico Zio, from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, presented an academic report entitled "Prognostics and System Health Management for Predictive Maintenance of Energy Components" at the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University on October 15, 2018. The report was hosted by Professor DING Yi, and many teachers and students from the College of Electrical Engineering presented at the report.
In the report, Professor Enrico Zio first introduced the value and importance of predictive diagnosis and reliability analysis theory in the maintenance intervention of large-scale engineering. Then the modeling and solving algorithms of data detection, fault diagnosis, predictive analysis and reliability evaluation are elaborated. He also gave some examples of the application of these methods in turbine, steam generator, nuclear power plant reactor coolant pump, etc. At last, the application of reliability analysis in renewable energy integration and smart grid is introduced. The future development of power system is also prospected. After the report, Professor Zio exchanged ideas with the teachers and students, and then also visited the Smart Grid Laboratory in School of Electrical Engineering.
