Reports from Professor Tanaka were successfully held

Date:2018-10-17Editor:161

From October 8th to 11th, 2018, Professor Tanaka visited the invitation of high voltage laboratory of College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University. The communication process was divided into three parts. Firstly, there was a research report with the theme of "Cutting Edge Polymer Nanocomposite Technology -Fundamentals and Applications in Electric Power and Power Electronics Applications". Secondly, the research status report was about "Recent Progress in High Voltage Electrical memories Technology in Japan". Finally, there was an introduction of "University Educational Systems in Japan Mainly for Electrical Engineering R&D". Representatives of students from the college of electrical engineering and the department of chemical engineering participated in the report, which was hosted by Chen Xiangrong, a researcher of the "One-hundred Talents Program of Zhejiang University" in the high voltage laboratory of the college of electrical engineering.

First, researcher Chen Xiangrong introduced the research experience of Prof. Tanaka to the teachers and students present. Afterwards, Prof. Tanaka introduced the basis and application of polymer nanocomposite technology in the field of electricity and power electronics in detail. The report covered six aspects, including the basic introduction of the research, the preparation method, the interface and interaction area, the improvement of various properties, the second generation represented by the core shell structure, and the latest development of nanocomposite simulation. It enabled students to have a deeper understanding of polymer nanocomposite technology.

On the afternoon of October 9th, Prof. Tanaka introduced the latest development of Japanese high voltage insulation technology to students. The report mainly started from the following six aspects: water tree research; FGM (dielectric constant and conductivity gradient polymer composites); Mesoporous composites; 3D printers; Computer simulation of composite materials and dielectric by electrostatic adsorption method. In introducing the study of water trees, Prof. Tanaka mainly mentioned three methods, including residual charge method, PA-based space charge measurement of cable structure and new pulse method. These methods are of great significance to the future research and development of high voltage insulation laboratory.

Researcher Chen also introduced high voltage laboratory to Tanaka, including the history, development process and the existing research team of the high voltage laboratory of the college of electrical engineering, Zhejiang University.

On October 10, Prof. Tanaka introduced the education system of Japanese universities in the field of electrical engineering research and development to the students. At first, Prof. Tanaka showed the research funds, research expenditures and published papers of Osaka University and Shizuoka University, which gave students a preliminary understanding of the research status of Japanese universities, he also pointed out that the output of Japanese students' papers has fallen in recent years. In the end, Prof. Tanaka hoped that all the students can settle down to do research work, and he also showed his welcome to anyone who would go to Japanese schools for communication.

After the report, researcher Chen expressed his sincere gratitude to Prof. Tanaka. The two teachers said that they would actively carry out scientific research exchanges in the future, expecting more relevant cooperation in the future.
