Dr. Do Hyun Kang, team leader of high power density electrical machine of Korea Electro-technology Research Institute (KERI), delivered an academic report at Zhejiang University on Research Activities at KERI.
On the afternoon of April 1 this Monday at Yuquan Campus, Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Electrical Machine Systems and Zhejiang University IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter (ZJU IEEE IAS SBC) invited Dr. Do Hyun Kang to deliver an academic presentation. Prof. Shen and students from EE College attended the lecture.
Dr. Do Hyun Kang first introduced that KERI is especially focusing its research effort on 4Hi-Motortronics with high efficiency/high power density/high speed/high precision, electric vehicle, pulse-power, high-voltage circuit breakers, super-conductor magnet. KERI's 8000MVA short-circuit testing facilities have also provided the testing and certification services for the heavy electric industries as the independent third-party testing laboratory. KERI’s best R&D achievements such as nuclear reactor power control system, Korean high speed train and transportation in clean room are also introduced. Finally the CIGRE Working Group A1.47 “Technological Feasibility Studies for Super(IE4) and Ultra-Premium Efficient(IE5) Motors ” will be shown.
After the lecture, Dr. Do Hyun Kangshared ideas with students on related issues, which mainly focused on design methods of high efficiency motor and the principle of transverse flux motor. During the discussion, Dr. Do Hyun Kang showed many physical motors to help students understand. He welcomed further communication from students of EE college.
Finally, Dr. Do Hyun Kang's "Research Activities at KERI " academic report was successfully concluded. Participating teachers and students have learned a lot about cutting-edge technologies in the electrical field.
