From July 6th to July 10th in 2022, the College of Electrical Engineering at Zhejiang University successfully held "Renewable Power Generation for Carbon Neutrality : Opportunities and Challenges” International Workshop. It is one of the projects in “The Seventh Zhejiang University Graduate International Workshop” and has been funded by Graduate School of Zhejiang University. The workshop conducts online academic speeches in the key areas of Renewable Power Generation under the guidance of a first-class tutor team from Zhejiang University, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Queensland University of Technology, and University of Western Australia. The workshop is a science and education event which brings together scholars to exchange ideas and cutting-edge research, provides participates with an international, innovative and open academic exchange and scientific research cooperation platform, and nurture talents with a global outlook.
“This workshop aims to gather high-end intellectual resources, build an academic exchange platform, and help graduate students cultivate international vision, and this is also a good opportunity to promote cooperation with world-class universities.” On July 7th, Professor Qiang Yang of the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, delivered an opening speech and introduced the workshop.
In the invited report session, Dr. Na Ren, Prof. Yongheng Yang, Dr. Kaikai Pan and Dr. Shao Shuai from Zhejiang University,Dr. Nick Papanikolaou from Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, Dr. Mohammad Amin from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Dr. Dezso Sera from Queensland University of Technology, Dr. Hossein Dehghani Tafti from University of Western Australia gave academic speeches in the key areas of Renewable Power Generation from different perspectives.
In the student report session, 4 graduate students respectively reported on their academic research results, and more than 100 graduate students listened to the report and participated in the discussion and shared their ideas.
Muhammad Salman, a PhD student of the College of Electrical Engineering at Zhejiang University has participated in this workshop and given a report in the student report session. He expressed his feeling,“I stand thoroughly impressed by the whole team of the workshop. The workshop simply lived up to my expectations. I really appreciated hearing about the creative process, and it has helped me to feel more confident in jumping into doing more elaborate visualizations and helped me to consider how to tweak my ideas related to different aspects of my core topic.”
